Advocating for justice and rights for people with disability in Queensland
Queensland Parents for People with a Disability (QPPD) is a parent-based, mission-driven organisation, established in 1981. We are based in Brisbane and have a state-wide focus.
QPPD’s mission is to:
Vigorously defend justice and rights for people with disabilities by exposing exclusionary practices, speaking out against injustices and promoting people with disabilities as respected, valued and participating members of society.
At QPPD we share the belief that people with disability are entitled to aspire to the best possible life, just like any of us. We want our family members and all people with disability to be included and enjoy the same rights as other citizens when it comes to schools, activities, housing, support – indeed all areas of community life.
QPPD’s strength is based on the experience and knowledge of families working together to get a better deal for our family members.
