How we plan to achieve our goals and objectives
Strategic Plan 2011-2016
 Goal 1

Objectives
- To remain a clear, strong voice promoting the entitlement of people with disability to live full, meaningful lives with appropriate support.
- To advocate for increased control and choice for people with disability so that inclusive settings are the norm, focusing on education and employment.
- To ensure people with disability are supported to fill valued roles and contribute to their communities, including as employees and business owners.
- To influence a shift to increase the proportion of funding that is individualised, personalised and able to be directed by individuals to build a good life.
Goal 2
Objectives
- To ensure families can access information, strategies and support to advocate for their family member and for other people with disability.
- To help families develop strong frameworks for inclusion.
- To help families increase confidence, share information with others and develop as advocates.
- To increase active families’ participation in campaigns, advocacy groups, events and discussions.
Goal 3
Objectives
- To be well-informed about exclusionary practices in Queensland and about inclusive alternatives.
- To respond actively when families and others raise concerns with QPPD.
Goal 4
Objectives
- To be sought out by government and non-government agencies to contribute our views in policy debates in Queensland.
- To grow our active membership by 10% each year.
- To ensure that families are welcomed, heard and respected when they contact QPPD.
- To develop staff, Board and members to be effective in their roles.
- To operate a viable, accountable organisation through excellent management and governance.
